Pad Kra Pao is one of the easiest dishes to find in Thailand. You can find it at most Thai restaurants, and it's often the first choice for people who can't decide what to eat, as it's both easy and delicious to make. For the cooking process, we've prepared the ingredients and instructions below for you to follow!
Time to prepare the ingredients!
1. Minced Pork 200g
2. Holy Basil Leaves 20g
3. Garlic 1 head
4. Red Chilies 1-6 pieces (adjust quantity to your preference)
5. Fish Sauce 1 tablespoon
6. Thai Soy Sauce 1 tablespoon
7. Oyster Sauce 2-3 tablespoons
8. Dark Soy Sauce 1 tablespoon (adjust quantity to your preference)
9. Jasmine Rice 200g (can be substituted with brown rice/Riceberry for a healthier option)
Let's start cooking!
1. Pound the red chilies and garlic until fine. You can use a mortar and pestle or a blender.
2. Heat a pan and add about 2-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil (to your liking). Wait for the pan to get hot.
3. Add the pounded chilies and garlic to the pan and stir-fry until fragrant.
4. Add the prepared minced pork to the pan and stir-fry thoroughly. Cook it with the garlic and chilies until the pork starts to cook through. Then, add fish sauce, oyster sauce, Thai soy sauce, and dark soy sauce, and stir-fry to combine well (you can add seasonings to your taste). Add the holy basil leaves and continue to stir-fry until mixed.
5. Serve on a plate and enjoy!
